Beautiful example of Mata Ortiz pottery. This rabbit effigy is handmade and signed by potter, Reidesel Reyes, from Mata Ortiz, Chihuahua, Mexico. It measures 6” x 11” x 5 1/2”. This particular piece is finished with manganese and graphite giving it a rich gloss black color. Signed by the artist with his initials RRR on the bottom.
This ceramic piece is handmade with ancient traditions from the village of Mata Ortiz in Chihuahua, Mexico. Very collectible and unique. The clay is mined from the Sierra Madre Occidental mountain range, painted with handmade natural paints, and hand-coiled. This piece has fine detail and will be perfect for anyone's pottery collection.
